KAROLE MAROIS (1958 -       )

Karole Marois, originally from Ottawa, is an established contemporary figurative painter based in Prince Edward County Ontario. A Fine Arts graduate of the Ontario College of Art (now OCADU), she also holds a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence Italy, with a specialty in painting and anatomy. Karole has presented her work in numerous exhibitions in Canada and abroad, and her paintings can be found in various private and public collections.

“In my waterscapes, I look for simplicity, essence, meaning and poetry.  While my paintings are inspired by the power and magic of water, the underlying constant theme in my body of work is the feeling of longing. The bittersweet melancholy of the human experience. Sometimes described as an “oceanic” sensation, it is a kind of burning desire to be one with the universe.”
