Margot Roi’s work is an abstracted reflection of the landscapes and natural forms she encounters. Beginning her artistic career in textile/interior design, Margot earned an Arts and Technology Degree from Sheridan College and then went on to study fine arts at the University of Windsor where she developed a distinct gestural painting style that has continued to evolve over her 35 year career. Advocating for artistic voice eventually led to a Bachelor of Education Degree at Nipissing University and a 30 year teaching career that has always run parallel to her own creative work. Margot Roi works from her studio in Muskoka and has received numerous provincial and regional awards for her work as both a visual artist and an arts educator.
